Chorlton High School is one of the leading Specialist Arts Colleges in the country. Our vision is based on the belief that creativity is a vital component of lifelong learning. We nurture creativity and imagination throughout the whole school curriculum to help students discover the world, solve problems and visualise the future. These skills are as relevant to the scientist and the mathematician as they are to the musician or designer.
Being a Specialist School has allowed us to provide a high quality Arts education which is transforming learning for both our students and the local community. Our superb facilities ensure that students have every opportunity to excel in the Arts. The educational experience of our students is vastly enriched throughout the year through master classes led by a number of professional Arts groups and establishments across the city, including the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Exchange Theatre.
Leading In Learning
In 2007 as a result of the high academic achievement of our students, the school was recognised as a 'High Performing Specialist School' and was awarded the status of Training School.
'Training Schools demonstrate excellent practice across the range of teacher training activities, especially in teacher training and the continuing training of the whole school workforce. They are ambitious, imaginative and influential in these areas. They work collaboratively with others for the benefit of staff and pupils beyond their own boundaries.'
We are very proud of our additional specialist status and are totally committed to the high quality development of all our staff. Chorlton High School is dedicated to developing cutting edge practices in outstanding teaching and learning, providing exemplary experiences for students and sharing innovation across the city, region and national area.
At Chorlton High School we are committed to providing high quality educational opportunities for our local community.
