
Chorlton High School wishes to congratulate all of the pupils who have contributed to the school’s best ever GCSE results and to an outstanding rise in performance. The school has achieved a 17% rise in the number of pupils achieving 5A*-C including English and Maths. 53% of pupils achieved 5A*-C including English and Maths. Alongside this remarkable improvement, 83% of pupils achieved 5A*-C grades at GCSE or equivalent. The whole school community has been working hard to transform performance, a recent visit from the Department for Education described the work that contributed to this success as ‘outstanding’.
Headteacher Andy Park paid tribute to the dedication and commitment of pupils, staff and parents, “We have strived to ensure that all pupils at every level have an excellent foundation for future success. The School’s commitment to ensuring all pupils achieve is highlighted by our students with severe learning difficulties, who have achieved good passes at GCSE or equivalent subjects and our brightest Year 11 pupils who have delivered our first ever A Level results which included grades at A and A*. We now look forward to further success and improvement in the future.”
The school has achieved these phenomenal results by working closely with pupils at an individual level so that a cohort of 300 young people achieved academic excellence as well as enjoying the richness of cultural and social experience that thrives in the community of Chorlton.
