Head of Human Resources
Grade 10 £42,806 - £44,697
Permanent Full Time All Year Round, 35 hours pw
The Trustees of the Prospere Learning Trust would like to invite applications to the post of Head of Human Resources.
About the Role:
This is a new role and therefore provides a unique opportunity to help shape and drive our approach to Human Resources. The key purpose of the Head of HR is to provide strategic and operational leadership for all HR aspects of the trust. You will be joining us at an exciting time in our journey as we seek to align our policies and procedures across the trust, and ensure that we have an outstanding HR function that is able to grow along with our trust as we expand.
The role will be based in one of our South Manchester schools. Candidates should note that the role will require regular travel between the trust schools, which are currently based in Chorlton, Newall Green, Wythenshawe and Northern Moor. We have further expansion planned in September 2020 through the opening a new Specialist School in North Manchester. Whilst we do not expect our geographical area to spread significantly, it is possible that this area will expand further in time as the trust grows.
Whilst we have advertised for a 35 hour per week, all year round position, we would be willing to discuss flexible working for the successful candidate including reduced hours during the school holiday periods.
For an informal discussion on the role please contact our Director of Finance and Operations, Katherine Moulder, on 0161 8821187 / 07866 602644.
About the Candidate:
As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, you will have a substantial track record, preferably in the education field, of successfully developing and implementing HR strategies and practices with a focus on solutions development. You will be comfortable working at both a strategic and operational level, liaising with our Trustees whilst also completing complex HR casework or coordinating HR administration as required to support the needs of the organisation.
You will have the opportunity to add capacity to your team through our incumbent HR advisors, One Education, and be able to direct them to undertake employee case work as required. You will also be supported on core HR administrative tasks (recruitment, absence monitoring etc.) by the HR admin resource in each school. A key initial task will be completing the implementation of a new HR system across the Trust to improve efficiency and standardise our HR administration.
About the School:
The Prospere Learning Trust was formed in September 2017 through the merger of 2 multi academy trusts. Currently consisting of 5 schools based across South Manchester, employing over 500 staff, we are a growing trust with further expansion planned over the coming years. We are passionate about securing the best possible education for our young people, and believe that our staff play a vital role in achieving our vision.
