Chorlton High School are offering free CPD courses to improve teacher confidence in teaching new specification GCSE Physics/ Mathematics. These courses are running for a second year due to their popularity last year and the highly positive impact on teacher confidence and classroom practice for all participants.
Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) is aimed at any teacher qualified in a subject other than the course they wish to sit, we will be running separate courses for both Physics and Maths- for the Physics course it is open to Biologists and Chemists as non-specialist teachers.
Our experienced Physics/Maths teams will be delivering courses of the following format:
6 x 2 hour twilight sessions held at CHS between November 2018- June 2019/ Physics will be 9 x 2 hour twilight sessions held at CHS between October 2018- June 2019 (due to large amount of content)
Discussion and support around the pedagogy of teaching new spec physics/ maths with engaging T&L strategies
Access to an online platform for further study and resource sharing e.g. bespoke schemes of work and lessons
