To help continue our 'CHS Year of Reading' we are supporting the National Literacy Trust and their new campaign to encourage our students and staff to 'Take 10' minutes to read during the school day.

Throughout October and into the academic year we are aiming for all of our students to carry a book in their bag, ready to read for this short period. This time gives each reader a chance to relax, learn and feel good, all whilst using their imagination, improving their memory and concentration.

Anyone can get involved and we would encourage all CHS parents and carers to read with their child and also find time to read themselves! 'Take 10' can be done anywhere, on your way to school or work, at lunch or break time, or at your local library. The National Literacy Trust also highlights to think beyond books and read your favourite magazine, newspaper or blog.
