Our Year 7, 8 and 9 students attended an hour long panel show, presented by Capital Radio DJ Sarah Story where they heard from 3 industry experts working in the creative and digital technology industry.
The 3 industry experts; Beena Khetani - TV production and development, Tom Pringle - Accounts Manager for Refinery Marketing and Sian Roberts – Freelance producer and Project Manager shared their education and career journeys, what their aspirations were when they were at school, talked about what their jobs entail and how our students can develop a range of skills to be ready for the world of work.
After answering questions from Sarah about their careers in the creative and digital industry, students then had the opportunity to ask questions themselves to the panel. Our students came up with some excellent questions ranging from earning potential, to how old our panellists were when they first started working, what the hardest thing about their job is, and asking advice of the best steps they can take to get into the industry.
Students had a really enjoyable experience of the day:
