Image of Support for Refugees

A wonderfully diverse community of learners sharing their culture and heritage to express their compassion and empathy for others. Our school community is built, each day, together in unison.

With many now seeking refuge in neighbouring countries and far beyond. Our amazing our EAL (English as an Additional Language) students, organised a brilliant charity event to support people displaced by the ongoing war in Ukraine. They invited their fellow class mates to join them to walk a mile around our astro pitch.

Fantastically, the entire Year 7 cohort turned out in support, both to walk and to donate. Flags were flown, faces were painted and smiles were huge! Even the weather changed from grey cloud to warm sun as students completed their challenge.

So far, our EAL students have raised over £600 (we are still counting and believe the total will be over £1000!), with a very special mention to one wonderful family who have kindly made an individual donation of £200.
