Image of Epic Sporting encounter!

Since the dawning of time, individuals and teams have pitted themselves, their abilities and intellect against each other to find out who can truly be crowned as the very BEST.

Welcome to the inaugural charity football match between Chorlton High and sister school CHS South, raising donations for Samaritans.

Each school selected their 11 champions, (…as these were not available, they instead picked from staff members).

Fleet of foot, wily and strong.

Trained physically and mentally prepared to represent the honour of each educational institution. Ready with an eye for goal and a well-timed tackle, to take their rightful place in the sporting history of Chorlton-Cum-Hardy.

From changing rooms to pitch, click clacking of football studs cantered across an appropriately moody skyline. Handshakes were exchanged and the once friendly smiles switched to a determined, steely grimace. The stage was now set. Astro felt springy underfoot. Crowd volume maxed out at 11, the chants and cheers only momentarily silenced as the referee brought whistle to mouth, and began this epic encounter.

Both teams were valiant, battling well, linking play, driving forward, holding the line, or into a coordinated defensive retreat. Both teams scored, but only one would celebrate.

Home goals from Mr Absiyeh, Mr Doran, Mr Tate, Mr Wallbank and a brace from Mr Green would be enough to complete a resounding 6-2 victory for Chorlton High.

Our visitors from CHS South, banished once again back over the Mauldeth Road, will now regroup and ready themselves for the upcoming return leg…
