Students and staff at Chorlton High School are celebrating after receiving a truly fantastic set of GCSE results. We could not be any prouder of our Year 11 students, the Class of 2023, who have contributed to the school’s excellent GCSE results.  The last few years have been incredibly challenging for schools across the country, but today we have an opportunity to celebrate the phenomenal work of our young people.

The school is delighted to report that, despite recent challenges, the school has achieved its best set of examination results in its history. There were exceptional results, again, across all Sciences, Humanities, Languages, English and Maths. However, the school is also proud to say that it continues its strong Arts reputation with outstanding results in Dance, Drama and Music.

Zoe Morris, Headteacher, paid tribute to the great dedication and commitment of students, staff and parents.

“This year we know that we all felt very nervous about the examination results, as we knew that the Department for Education had previously stated that grade boundaries would be adjusted to ensure that the ‘standards’ at GCSE were more closely aligned to pre-pandemic results. It is, therefore, brilliant to see our students achieving a set of truly wonderful results. I am incredibly proud of this group of students and wish to congratulate them all!

Despite the unprecedented events of the past few years the determination of the students, and staff, to achieve well was evident in the dedication they showed to their studies and to the qualities of success that Chorlton High School strives to develop in all students. These results have surpassed our expectations, and are a testimony to their hard work, resilience and commitment. They have used the knowledge, skills and experiences that our staff have provided them with, which means that they have been able to flourish no matter what the challenges that they have faced.

There have been phenomenal achievements with many students achieving at the very highest level. However, what gives me the greatest pleasure is the consistent progress that our students make irrespective of their ability or starting points. We have had fantastic dedication from the students, unwavering belief from staff and such positive support from parents which is the perfect recipe for success.

Our school is committed to and, as these results prove, succeeds in delivering, uncompromising academic excellence while enabling students to learn from the rich cultural experience embedded in the Chorlton High community. Congratulations to all!”
