Image of Fostering diversity and inclusivity

At Chorlton High, our commitment to engaging and inclusive education is a reflection of our wonderfully diverse community. By embracing a conscious curriculum in our history lessons, we ensure that every student feels represented and inspired. Our approach to teaching history presents multiple perspectives, encompassing a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, which allows students to see themselves in our shared past, fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation for achievements from all walks of life.

As our students explore a rich, global history, they gain a deeper understanding of Britain and their place within it. In their study of the "Medieval World," Year 7 students uncover the thriving Middle East and Africa in addition to Britain's development. Our conscious curriculum aligns with our vibrant community values, emphasizing diverse historical figures and empowering students to envision themselves as future history-makers. We warmly invite parents to join us in celebrating the power of inclusive and representative education, as we nurture a generation of open-minded and compassionate individuals ready to make their mark on the world.
