As an end of week reward, students who have done ‘the right thing all day every day’ (Maintaining perfect uniform, attendance and who are Ready, Respectful and Safe in their learning), enjoyed a special concert and conversation with upcoming band – The Mercians.
Between songs, the band spoke candidly, focussing on where and how they grew up, influences, their failures and successes, the dangers of social media and negative influencers. Above all, The Mercians message is overwhelmingly positive, and despite their many setbacks their excitement and joy to be doing what they truly love is inspiring. We know how much our students enjoyed this event and are incredibly appreciative to be given a safe space to question and discuss ways to look after themselves and their own mental health.
We can’t wait to welcome The Mercians back to Chorlton High and wish them the very best as they continue their journey towards greatness.
