Year 9 History Scholars Visit University of Manchester

What an incredible opportunity for our students! A selection of our Year 9 CHS Scholars recently undertook a transformative trip to the University of Manchester to hear from renowned historian, writer, and BAFTA-winning filmmaker (and recent Celebrity Traitors finalist!), Professor David Olusoga.

This event, focusing on History Reimagined for a Changing World, directly fuelled our students' Curiosity and enhanced their understanding of history beyond the textbook. Professor Olusoga’s engaging lecture explored how Black British History reveals hidden narratives and why the study of history is vital in shaping both the present and future.

The experience reinforced how we equip students to research, question sources, and form evidence-based opinions, ensuring they view learning with a deeper understanding of their role in the wider world.
