Wear It With Pride

Our uniform is a badge of pride. It creates a strong community of belonging. Being dressed correctly helps students arrive ready to be successful, creative, and happy. Below, we have categorised items by what is compulsory for all students or optional, and whether they must be branded or unbranded.

Daily Uniform (Years 7, 8, 9 & 10)

Black blazer with embroidered CHS logo - Compulsory and Branded.

  • Exception: Year 11 students leaving in 2027 may wear the logoed CHS jumper instead.

White buttoned shirt/blouse - Compulsory and Unbranded.

  • Tucked in at all times.

Black, full length tailored school trousers - Compulsory and Unbranded.

  • Compulsory alternative to skirt
  • Jeans, denim, chinos, cargo pants, skinny jeans, and leggings are not permitted.

OR

Black skirt - Compulsory and Branded.

  • Compulsory alternative to trousers
  • Two styles are available to choose from. Please note skirt's length should be a maximum of 2” above the knee or 4” below the knee.

Black plain school shoes or all black trainers - Compulsory and Unbranded.

  • No white or coloured soles/rim/logos.

Black tailored shorts - Optional and Unbranded.

CHS School Tie – Compulsory and Branded (using our school colours).

  • Distinct to each year group.
  • Purchase via the School Shop on Arbor.

Each Year group has their own distinct tie. Parents can purchase a tie via the School Shop on Arbor.

What to wear for PE

Black T-shirt with embroidered CHS logo - Compulsory and Branded.

Black plain PE shorts - Compulsory and Unbranded.

Black plain football socks - Compulsory and Unbranded.

Black plain jogging pants - Optional and Unbranded.

Black plain Sports/Training top - Optional and Unbranded.

The purchase of jogging pants and a sports top may be beneficial for wear during the cooler months of the year. Students can expect to take part in outside PE lessons throughout the school year.

  • All students are expected to bring their PE kit to school on the days they have PE.
  • If a student does not bring appropriate PE kit for lesson, they will be issued with a detention and must borrow PE kit from the uniform bank.

Uniform Donations

We welcome donations of pre-loved Chorlton High School uniform. Parents and students can hand donations in to the school Reception.
