Stem Star Spotlight
To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science this year, we hosted a whole-school assembly on equal access in STEM and launched a fantastic poster competition. We asked students to celebrate female STEM stars, and we were absolutely blown away by the entries!
Massive congratulations to our winner, Year 9 student Nevaeh!
Nevaeh created a brilliant poster focused on Ada Lovelace, the world's first computer programmer. Inspired by Lovelace's story, her artwork beautifully highlighted how this pioneer blended analytical thought with creativity to pave the way for modern computing. For her fantastic entry, Nevaeh has won a copy of the book Rebel Girls: STEM Stars to help her discover even more pioneering women.
Team Science is so proud of her work that copies of her poster will soon be displayed in labs and classrooms across the department.
A huge well done, Nevaeh!
