Building Connections Through Maths and Mentorship

Building Connections Through Maths and Mentorship

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on our Year 10 Maths Ambassadors, who have truly embodied Empathy and leadership throughout our academic year.

Demonstrating remarkable Responsibility, they have supported younger year groups by running our Sparx Club every Thursday after school, patiently helping students with their Maths homework and building their Confidence. Our 'Community of Belonging' thrives on the connections made between students of all ages, and our Ambassadors have created a wonderfully fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

As part of our New Beginnings programme, ambassadors played a key role in warmly welcoming and supporting Year 6 students during their move to secondary school. Their impact also extended beyond our school as they also taught an engaging lesson on the area and circumference of circles to primary school students. Both activities highlighted collaboration as central to our ethos, reinforcing the strong bonds that define our school community.

Throughout the year, ambassadors also took part in leadership sessions with Miss Jones, helping them to grow their skills and make a real, fulfilling impact in school. A memorable moment was their leadership of the Pi Day competition (where one student famously recited Pi to 256 digits!), celebrating mathematical Curiosity and achievement.

Through these experiences our Year 10 Maths Ambassadors have not only grown in maturity and character but have also significantly enriched our school community.
