Open Evening 2025!

What a night!

The energy at our Open Evening on September 25th was just incredible. We were so excited to welcome so many of you into our vibrant community—it was the perfect way to celebrate this first month of our new school year.

A hub of activity

A vibrant atmosphere filled every corner of our school, welcoming visitors in to explore a world of discovery. In our Science labs, visitors dove into exciting experiments and were fascinated by hands-on dissections. They also engaged with the logic of Maths and the creativity of English, seeing first hand how learning comes to life at Chorlton High. The student talent on display was remarkable, showcasing their skills in musical drama rehearsals, intricate dance choreography, animated technology demonstrations and lively debate sessions. The sports hall was also a hub of activity, with basketball, badminton, and trampolining all on offer, while live music from our talented students filled the air.

A comprehensive ethos

Our Headteacher, Ms. Morris and Head of School Ms Wilson, took the stage to introduce our school’s comprehensive ethos. In a passionate address, they each spoke about how our commitment to academic excellence, evidenced by the best GCSE results in our history, is perfectly balanced with our dedication to student well-being. The address highlighted our tailored curriculum, designed not just to help students achieve top grades but to promote holistic development and inspire a genuine love of learning. The message also spoke about our strong Community of Belonging, built on a foundation of support and mentorship, ensuring every student feels valued and can thrive.

A passion for learning

The most powerful, yet simple, moment of the evening followed when our remarkable student, Bonnie, stood on stage and spoke from the heart. She captivated a hushed audience with her Ignite speech, sharing her personal journey of finding her voice both in class and on stage. Her beautiful words about how her first year felt like finding a family, and her love for the library and the clubs she’s joined, were a true testament to the warmth and support that defines our school. Her passion for learning was inspiring to us all.

The journey begins!

We wanted the evening to feel like a journey of understanding, a personal guide to what it means to be a CHS Scholar. Our Discovery Trail allowed our fantastic staff to connect with prospective students, sharing their passion for their subjects and helping to illuminate how we uncover each child’s unique strengths.

Ultimately, the night was a chance to experience firsthand how we help our young people to find their voice, discover their passions, and find a family to grow alongside, becoming Successful, Creative, and Happy individuals.
