Chorlton High School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

Chorlton High School, Manchester, is celebrating another exceptional set of GCSE results, with students achieving results that build on the school’s best-ever outcomes last year.

Students have once again achieved outstanding academic results across a wide range of subjects. The results reflect the determination, ambition and hard work of this year’s students, supported by the dedication of staff and families.

For the students themselves, these results open doors. They provide the qualifications and confidence to choose the next stage of their education and, in the years ahead, to pursue whatever academic path they aspire to – whether that is A levels, further education, apprenticeship, university or an alternative pathway into their future career.

Executive Headteacher Zoe Morris said:

“We are incredibly proud of our students. These results are exceptional, and they give our young people a fantastic platform from which to choose their own futures. They have worked enormously hard and deserve every success.

“But education is about so much more than a set of examination results. We want our students to leave Chorlton High with the academic knowledge and qualifications that allow them to go on and do whatever they want, but also with creativity, curiosity, confidence, compassion and the ability to lead.

“Our students have grown up in a school and a community that values creativity, individuality and a sense of belonging. Those qualities matter enormously. We want them to take that spirit with them – to be ambitious for themselves, but also to think about the communities they are part of and the difference they can make to the lives of others.

“That feels particularly important in a place like Chorlton and Manchester, where creativity, enterprise, culture and community are such a powerful part of our identity. We are educating young people who will not simply succeed in the world as it is, but who have the confidence, imagination and leadership to help shape the world of the future.”

The school is celebrating the achievements of every student, recognising that success looks different for each young person. Alongside their academic accomplishments, students have contributed to the life of the school through music, drama, art, sport, volunteering, student leadership and a wide range of creative and community activities.

For Chorlton High, these experiences are an essential part of a broad education – developing young people who are not only academically successful, but creative and happy, and who are ready to make a positive contribution to their communities.

Ms Morris added:

“Today belongs to our students. They should feel immensely proud of what they have achieved. But what excites me most is seeing the young people they have become – their creativity, confidence, kindness and willingness to step forward and lead.

“Those are the qualities that will stay with them long after their GCSE certificates are put away. We are enormously grateful to our staff and families for everything they have done to support them. We could not be prouder.”
