Working in successful partnership with our parents/carers is one of the most important factors in students becoming successful, creative and happy across their 5 years at Chorlton High School. When we are aligned in our shared vision for your child, we can achieve brilliant success together.
Our parent communication charter outlines our commitment to building strong relationships with parents and explains the various communication channels available to you. We encourage you to engage with us as much as possible and keep up to date with our communications.
Parental Communication Charter
We recognise that across a student's 5-year journey, an issue may arise that goes beyond the remit of our parent communication charter, and we want to work successfully with you to resolve those issues positively.
Step 1 - Talk to Us
It is always best to begin by speaking with your child's teacher/form tutor/Head of Year as soon as you can.
Let them know what has happened and what you would like us to do to make it better. We will aim to get back to you within 3 working days. This could be a telephone call or an invite to come to school to discuss the matter in person and work collaboratively to find a solution.
If you feel there is still more to do after this conversation, you can make a written concern or formal complaint.
Step 2 - Write to Us
If your concerns remain, please write to us via the form below. Your message could include brief details of what happened, who is involved, who you have already spoken with and what you would like us to do next.
You will receive receipt of your email within 3 working days and you will be invited to attend a meeting or phone call to talk through the issues and ensure we have clarity and can investigate fully. You will receive a formal written reply, usually within 15 school days.
What next?
We are confident that we will be able to resolve any issue that might arise – with the joint understanding that we are working together to ensure every student's success and happiness.
Please find our complaints policy below, it documents the remaining options that are available to you, should you still have concerns after Step 2.
