A Record-Breaking Open Evening

A Record-Breaking Open Evening
25th Sep 2026

Thank you to the hundreds of families who joined us on Thursday. It was our busiest Open Evening ever, and a truly inspiring night.

Bringing learning to life

Our corridors were alive with curiosity as our subject departments put on incredible displays. Families stepped into the shoes of our students.

 Visitors found themselves:

  • Creating controlled chaos with safely exploding balloons in the science labs.
  • Hunting for hidden clues and solving anagrams to escape the island in English.
  • Putting their logic to the test with our maths puzzles and games.
  • Learning the moves during dance rehearsals for our upcoming Christmas show.
  • Taking home a piece of the night by crafting keyrings in the design workshops.
  • Tackling big questions and sharing their views in our EPR debates.
  • Leaping on the trampolines and joining in with our PE team to play a variety of sports.

For the second year running, our Discovery Trail guided families through all of these experiences. It was wonderful to see parents and children working together to respond to the classroom scenarios, discovering which of our CHS Scholar strengths shine through in their children.

Voices of our community

The energy carried right through to the Blue Box Theatre. Both Headteacher’s presentations were completely packed. For those who missed out on a seat, please do not worry. We will share a video of the presentation very soon.

A standout moment was the passionate 'Ignite' speech delivered by our student speaker. They spoke bravely about their personal journey, capturing exactly what it means to grow and succeed at our school.

Our Community of Belonging

We are exceptionally proud of every student helper and staff member who welcomed our visitors so wonderfully. You are the heartbeat of our Community of Belonging.

Watching our students guide families with such confidence, enthusiasm, and warmth showed everyone exactly why Ofsted describes Chorlton High as a place where "pupils are exceptionally proud of their school and thrive in a highly inclusive community."

Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable event.
